Anglican Church Women
ACW is an integral part of the mission of the Canadian Anglican Church. The purpose of
ACW is to unite women in a fellowship of worship, study, and offering, to deepen and
strengthen their spiritual lives and lead them into Christian service everywhere. ACW is a
positive, inclusive and unifying organization, which affirms in word and action that its
service is based upon faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ. All Anglican Women are welcome
regardless of their specific sphere of interest or degree of involvement and are enabled
to work positively and productively through the following committees:
The group meets
every second Tuesday at 8:15pm in the Church Hall.
Bible
Study
St. Michael's is pleased
to offer a Bible Basics course on Sunday evenings at 7 PM. The course invoves an overview
of the Old & New Testaments.
St.
Michael's Mens Fellowship
The purpose of the Mens'
Fellowship is to cultivate and provide opportunities for fellowship and fraternity among
men and to encourage their involvement in the life and work of the Church. Membership is
open to all men who are supportive of this purpose. The group usually meets the first
Monday of each month at 6:45PM. The Mens Fellowship hosts a Men's Darts League every
Monday evening at 8:15PM, with the exception of the 2nd Monday of the month which is Mixed
Darts night. Everyone is welcome to join the fun and fellowship!
Choir
Our Choir provides a rich
variety of traditional & contmporary Christian music. Practice is held every Tuesday
evening at 6:45pm in the Church. We welcome and encourage anyone with an interest in
choral singing!
Prayer Breakfast
St.
Michael's has a prayer breakfast in the Hall on the first Saturday of each month at 9 AM.
Everyone is welcome to join us for a time of prayer, praise and good Christian fellowship.
Servers
Servers play a special role
in the worship of our Church. We encouage young people to be involved in this ministry.
Sidespersons

Teams are assigned to
welcome and assist worshippers. New members welcome!
Sunday / Church School
We are very pleased to be able to offer Nursery care and Sunday School instruction up
to Grade 6 level, using the resources of the Whole People of God curriculum. We also try
to design intergenerational worship on special Sundays to provide our children an
opportunity to worship with us. Children are also welcome to receive communion from a very
early age. All children are welcome.
Confirmation
Preparation
We offer preparation for
Confirmation, in conjunction with other Anglican parishes in the city, over a two year
period, using The Grow in the Spirit Program and the Youth Alpha Program in alternate
years. People must be at a minimum age of 12 years to begin preparation.
Baptism Preparation
Baptism is usually celebrated on the key festivals of our Church year (Easter, Pentecost,
etc.). Preparation for parents and sponsors of children and for adult candidates is
required and is offered in conjunction with other city parishes.
Marriage Preparation
Preparation for Marriage is required and is offered at least once a year in conjunction
with other parishes in our Deanery (Bay of Islands).
We sponsor, support and encourage the Scout
& Guide movements. Various groups meet at our Church Hall.
We welcome and encourage
people to become involved in the various ministries of our Church, such as Servers,
Sidespersons, Readers, Teachers, etc. |
